Last year, when Lane Hutson was eliminated in the NCAA, it took less than 24 hours for him to sign with the Habs.
This year, when Ryan Leonard and Gabriel Perreault were eliminated in the NCAA, they also needed less than 24 hours to sign with Washington and New York.
These cases happen quickly. After all, we know that these guys are going to burn a year of their contract in the NHL.
But Jacob Fowler’s case is different. We’re not sure if the goalie, who’s moving on to the pros,

Jacob Fowler: burning a year of contract could backfire on him

Johnny Gaudreau’s father met Cole Caufield after game #3
via dose.caCole Caufield was dominant tonight.
Playing in a full Bell Centre for the first time in his life, the young Canadien was one of his team’s driving forces – and one of the reasons for the 6-3 victory.
He had two points, including a goal, and was involved on the ice. His 11 shots on goal (a franchise record in the playoffs) are proof of that.JURAJ SLAFKOVSKYThe #20 gives his team a 2-goal lead, on a beautiful pass from Cole Caufield! pic.twitter.com/9Wwqr8EfNy

Go Habs Go: the Bell Centre doesn’t give a damn about the Office Québécoise de La langue Française
via dose.caAs of yesterday, the Go Habs Go scandal has been greatly exaggerated.
To recap, Montreal buses started writing “Go Habs Go” on their buses, but a complaint to the Office Québécois de la Langue Française caused STM to remove the words and put them in French: “Allez Montréal allez”. Let’s just say it’s a lot less chic…
I’m all for preserving the French language, but for such a trivial matter, I’m inclined to say: &r -
Match #3: Patrik Laine will not play with an upper-body injury
via dose.caPatirk Laine won’t be playing tonight. The Habs just announced it on X.
And the CH also announced that the forward is injured… in his upper body.

Wedding bells ring for B.C. Farming for Love couple in their TV romance success story
via vancouversun.comFarming for Love season 1 couple Doug Groenendijk and Meghan Russell are engaged. Groenendijk, a dairy farmer from Chemainus, recently popped the question to Russell, a dairy researcher who grew up on a farm in the Ottawa Valley but moved to the Chemainus area in late 2022, a month or so after the finale of the show aired. The format for the CTV reality show that introduced the couple sees a farmer invite a group of singles to live and work alongside them. During the show, produced by Vancouver -
The CH almost recalled Florian Xhekaj for tonight’s game
via dose.caIt’s easy to say.
After two games against the Capitals… the Habs are getting shuffled around.
The Caps’ players are more physical, and that’s why the CH is getting roughed up. But…But according to JiC, the CH tried to remedy the situation.
How?
By recalling Florian Xhekaj. There have been intense conversations internally about whether or not Florian Xhekaj should be recalled. – Jean-Charles LajoieLet’s not forget that, after the trade deadline, the Habs -
YouTube turns 20: Meet B.C.'s top 'Tubers

Martin McGuire: “Patrik Laine’s knee was as swollen as his head”
via dose.caPatrik Laine isn’t playing great field hockey at the moment.
And there may be a reason behind it.
According to Martin McGuire(98.5 FM), the player had “a swollen knee the size of his head” after the CH’s last game in Washington.
According to McGuire, we’re talking about the left knee – the same one that was affected by a major injury during training camp.
Laine has decided not to undergo surgery for this injury.

Laine absent or not, Demidov must play on the first wave of the power play tonight
via dose.caPatrik Laine did not take part in the Canadiens’ practice this morning at the Bell Centre.
And we don’t know if he’ll be able to play tonight in Game 3 of the series against the Capitals.
But it doesn’t matter: whether Laine is there or not, he deserves to lose his place on the first wave of the power play.
Laine may have a quality shot, but it hasn’t been working for him for a while.

CapFriendly acquisition and Capitals success: Just a coincidence?
via dose.caIn June 2024, the Capitals purchased the CapFriendly website.
The organization acquired the platform in order to integrate it into its day-to-day field hockey operations.
The Caps also hired Jamie Davis, the site’s co-founder, to work with the team.Simon Boisvert and Mathias Brunet talked about it in an episode reserved for their Patreon subscribers, and one question came up: is the Capitals’ success explained by the purchase of CapFriendly?

Unsigned contract: Alexander Nikishin’s agent seriously threatens the Hurricanes
via dose.caAlexander Nikishin’s situation in Carolina is bizarre.
On April 11, two weeks ago, the Hurricanes announced that the player had agreed with the team on the terms of a two-year NHL entry-level contract.
But now… said contract doesn’t seem to have been officially signed yet.
There are still details to be ironed out, and the player’s agent is frustrated. Both parties agree on the terms of the contract, but nothing has been officially sent to the NHL yet.

Go Habs Go: threats to OQLF employees
via dose.caThe famous “Go Habs Go” situation is getting out of hand.

Patrik Laine out tonight and Arber Xhekaj in the line-up, according to JiC

The Tricolore proved it could be more than just “in the mix” with a very fine end to the season.
It was to be expected that the price of a ticket to the Bell Centre for the series against the Capitals would be very high.
And indeed, when I looked up the price of a ticket in the pit on Ticketmaster as soon as the tickets went on sale, it cost around $450 to be in the 400s… -
Patrik Laine may play injured
via dose.caPatrik Laine is a hot topic with the Montreal Canadiens.
The maverick is simply not capable of making the red light flicker…
There’s a glaring lack of motivation in his game, but could there be a hidden injury?
That’s the idea that Arpon Basu raised during his recent appearance on TSN 690.Some speculation in here that Patrik Laine might be playing through an injury, which would explain his sudden inability to shoot on the power play. https://t.co/en8QLwzfSS

“Laine, ça lui tentait pas”: Félix Séguin believes young people must not like it
via dose.caPatrik Laine’s second period in Game #2 against the Capitals won’t go down in history for all the right reasons. It’s the talk of the town today, and everyone has something to say about the usefulness – or otherwise – of #92 in Montreal.
This morning, I wrote that his talent no longer makes up for his disinterest, lack of effort and 5-on-5 play. For the sake of the club’s culture, this must be the end of the Laine experiment. If he’s not interested in pla -
Mapper returns to TVA Sports tonight
via dose.caA nice surprise on our TVs tonight. Good old Mapper was back at the NHL rink, complete with jacket, tie and TVA Sports microphone.
Now a police officer in Gatineau, Marc-André Perreault was brought out of media retirement by his old boss, LP Neveu, for Game #3 of the Maple Leafs vs. Senators series. The police jokes were quick to follow. “The Habs so far refuse to dress a cop, NOT US!” quipped Jean-Charles Lajoie at the start of his JiC show, after the famous Mappelicious them -
It’s been over three months since Jake Evans scored on a goalkeeper
via dose.caAnd how do you like the series between the Canadiens and Capitals so far?
After two games, it’s safe to say that the CH isn’t being downgraded. It doesn’t look like a last-place club, but it doesn’t look like a real playoff club either. It looks like a mix team… which was the organization’s main objective at the start of the season. But for the CH to be able to be more successful, they also need a little more help from their supporting players. Like Jake Evans -

Arber Xhekaj: David Ettedgui begins to believe it’s a personal vendetta
via dose.caThe Capitals’ big players had (more) fun last night against the CH.
Alex Ovechkin (eight checks) and Tom Wilson (four checks) bothered the Habs all night long, and it was clear that the Caps had the physical advantage.
If only the CH had a player in its ranks that it could use to try and change this trend… #Ouain
Because no, Arber Xhekaj didn’t play last night.
Martin St-Louis decided to leave him out again, and the results are the same as in the first game. Will this prompt t -
Here are Ivan Demidov’s NHL 25 odds
via dose.caFans of NHL 25 haven’t yet had the chance to play with Ivan Demidov in the game.
And the reason is simple.
EA Sports had not yet created his character, since Demidov was playing in Russia. KHL players are not in the game, nor are NCAA players.
But EA Sports today revealed Ivan Demidov’s rating – and those of Zeeb Buium and Quinn Hutson.
Lane’s brother has a rating of 75, Buium’s is at 80… and Demidov has a rating of 83.
That’s not bad for a guy who&rsqu
