The last few weeks of college swimming has been littered with disappointment. Hundreds of student-athletes have been cut from their D1 rosters and been faced with the choice of leaving the elite ranks of the competitive sport or uprooting their lives and social networks and relocating to a different school.

John Watson Joining Minnesota With Two Years Of Eligibility Remaining

John Watson will join the Minnesota Gophers for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. Watson joins the team with two years of eligibility remaining after he just finished his sophomore season at Missouri.
The Nebraska native competed at the 2025 SEC Championships, helping Missouri to a 10th place team finish. He finished 22nd in the 200 breaststroke in a lifetime best 1:55.50. He also was 27th in the 200 IM in a lifetime best 1:45.37 and 31st in the 100 breast in a 53.4 -
