    NEWPORT BEACH – A person was killed Tuesday during an apparent robbery and shooting at Fashion Island in Newport Beach.
    Initial reports from police indicated a mid-afternoon robbery at the shopping mall led to one of the suspects opening fire, an official said.
    There was no immediate description of a suspect or whether more than one person was shot.
