    Padres Select Tyler Wade, Place Jake Cronenworth On IL
    The Padres announced that infielder Jake Cronenworth has been placed on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to April 9, with a non-displaced right rib fracture. Infielder/outfielder Tyler Wade was selected to take his place on the roster. To make room for Wade on the 40-man, right-hander Matt Waldron was transferred to the 60-day IL.

    Padres affiliates Double-A through Single-A started their seasons The minor league season has completed the second week with all the Padres affiliates playing games. The light air of El Paso inflates the offense so those numbers will not look good for pitchers most of the time but attention to strikeouts is a good rule of thumb.
    Many of the top prospects are in Fort Wayne (High-A) and San Antonio (Double-A) with the newest Padres playing in Lake Elsinore (Low-A) and some will be in the Arizona C
